This free browser game uses technically necessary cookies and local storage entries to store login status ("session cookies") and optional comfort settings (e.g., sound preferences). Cookies are deleted at the end of the session; you can remove local storage entries in your browser.

The use is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, as it is necessary for stable game operation.

Additionally, we use third-party cookies (Google AdSense, Google Analytics) for financing and analytics - see the following sections.

5. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics uses cookies to enable analysis of website usage.

Data Processed: IP address (anonymized), visit time, pages viewed, referrer, device/browser information.

Purpose: Analysis of user behavior to improve our offering and to design the game according to needs.

IP Anonymization: We have activated IP anonymization. Your IP address is truncated within the EU before transmission to Google servers.

Legal Basis: Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO (Consent). Consent is given during registration or login by confirming the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

6. Google AdSense (Advertising)

We use Google AdSense, an advertising service provided by Google Ireland Limited. Google AdSense uses cookies and similar technologies to display interest-based advertising.

Purpose: Financing the free browser game through advertisements.

Personalized Ads: Google may use data from other Google services or third-party websites to display personalized ads. You can disable personalized ads in the Google Ads Settings .

7. Google reCAPTCHA

We use Google reCAPTCHA for protection against bots, spam and automated abuse attempts. reCAPTCHA analyzes visitor behavior based on various characteristics.

Data Processed: IP address, referrer URL, information about operating system and browser, time spent, mouse movements and keyboard inputs, cookies.

Purpose: Distinguishing between human users and automated programs (bots) to protect the game.

Legal Basis: Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO (legitimate interest in the security and integrity of the game).

8. Hosting & Server Logs

Our servers are operated in a data center within the European Union. With each access, server log files are processed (IP address, timestamp, URL, referrer, user agent). This data is used for system security and error analysis and is deleted after a maximum of 14 days, unless security incidents require longer retention.

9. Registration, Game Account & Community

A unique username is required to create a game account. Optionally, you can provide an email address to receive password resets or important game notifications. Password hashes are stored encrypted according to current standards. All game-related data is used exclusively within the Unemployment Game.

Community features (e.g., guilds, messages) log the content you enter to ensure fair play. Abuse leads to deletion or anonymization of messages.

During registration, your consent to Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Google services is stored with timestamp and IP address (Consent Version: 1.0).

10. In-Game Purchases & Payments

Optional premium content can be paid for via PayPal. Payment data is transmitted exclusively to PayPal (Europe) S.a r.l. et Cie, S.C.A. We only store what is necessary for contract processing (transaction ID, amount, date, user ID). Legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR.

PayPal may process data independently. Details can be found in the PayPal Privacy Policy.

11. Support & Contact

When you contact us via the contact form or email, we process the data you provide to respond to your inquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (contractual communication) or Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in efficient support processing). Support tickets are stored for a maximum of 12 months after successful resolution to be able to handle follow-up questions.

12. Storage Duration & Deletion

We only store personal data for as long as is necessary for contract fulfillment or legal retention requirements. Game accounts that have been inactive for more than 365 days are automatically reviewed and may be deleted after prior notice. You can have your game account deleted at any time - contact us at admin@das-arbeitslosenspiel.de.

13. Technical & Organizational Measures

We employ up-to-date security measures, including encrypted passwords, role-based database access, backups and monitoring. Sensitive administrative functions are only available to authorized personnel. We regularly review whether our measures comply with current standards.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy will be updated when changes are made to the Unemployment Game, when new legal requirements arise, or when new features are introduced. The current version can always be found on this page.
